Apple announced the release of a third iPad yesterday, entitled just “the new iPad”. The new ‘Resolutionary’ iPad boasts a pioneering Retina display, a 5MP iSight camera and ultra-fast wireless.
However, there are concerns that UK users may not be able to make the most of the features offered. The Daily Mail revealed that we will not be able to enjoy the 4G functionality as the technology won’t be rolled out in the UK until the end of 2012. Even then, the American specifications differ to British and industry experts have concerns whether the two are compatible.
Also, since the device is faster, the applications which run on it will be larger and that could mean bigger bills for iPad owners.
A full report on the functionality can be found on Wired. Launched on the 16th March it retails at £399, so it is effectively a huge spec improvement for the same cost as the iPad2.
It will be interesting to see how it fairs in the UK.
